Dubmodder

In an effort to procrastinate I've spent some time messing around with a cool v-dub site. It's basically photoshopping made easy. In keeping with the recent mk5 discussion I've used it to create the following two images. Enjoy.

The only thing that gets me about the new GTI is that the V-shaped region across the hood and down the grill makes it look like it's wearing a thong.

Don't you think?

Well, if the v-shape was on the back side I'd think that would make sence.

I dont normally think of the front end of a car as something that would wear a thong, so I dont really see it.

But, as its in the front I think it gives it a lowered nose look - almost acentuating the fenders and making them look wider and taller than they actually are.

Oh, no doubt--the extra detail in the hood makes it look narrower than it really is. Because there's so much contrast in the color, the fenders seem comparatively massive.

This seems to be where things are going design-wise for a while. The gun-slit windows on ridiculously American cars like the H2 and the 300C are starting to carry over into the more Prussian designs. For instance, the newish A4 is a good deal bulkier-looking than the outgoing model, despite the fact that it's largely the same size.
